2nd Graders Learn About Poetry
Mrs. Royal's 2nd grade class wrote the following poem.
I've always lived in Shawnee, My friends all live here too.
We go to Horace Mann school, We're happy that we do.
Our school is at the corner of Draper and Whittaker Street.
There are lots of neat students that get here on their feet...
Mrs. Royal teaches lots of things like re-grouping and Madd Math,
She also teaches science, poetry, rhyming and she always makes us laugh.
Mrs. Salter and Mrs. Jackson are the reading guru's
They teach how to read so that in life we do not lose!
Mrs. Hames is our art teacher, and she teaches us how to do art,
She's a real nice lady who paints with her heart....
Mrs. Minn is the music lady, she teaches us how to sing,
She likes to color and and it is love that she brings....
To everyday music stuff, Fun is her central theme!
Coach McCain is the PE teacher, He is a real cool guy,
Dance, Dance Revolution is the funnest thing we have to try!
He teaches us how to be healthy, and not eat things that are fried!
Mrs. Lowe is the librarian, she reads us real good books,
She takes good care of them and inspects them with close looks.
Mrs. Field is our principal, she is SERIOUS when there's trouble!
But if you need a helping hand she gets there on the double!
Hooray for Horace Mann School, it's the best school in the land!
I wouldn't go to another even if you make the command!!!!
